Join members and friends as we get to know Philadelphia's business, civic, political, and cultural leaders.
Blondell Reynolds Brown
Former Councilperson
City of Philadelphia
Katherine Gilmore Richardson
Councilmember At-Large, Majority Leader, City of Philadelphia
Blondell Reynolds Brown served two decades on Philadelphia City Council, where she championed legislation supporting women, children, and families, helped create the City’s Youth Commission and Children’s Fund, and advanced arts and culture funding citywide. An educator turned policymaker, she also chaired the Council’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Committee and served as Majority Whip. Today, Blondell continues her public service as a senior member of Frank DiCicco Associates, advising organizations on government relations and community impact. Her new memoir, “Walking a Tightrope Backward in High Heels”, which offers an honest look at her journey through public service, single motherhood, and personal resilience.
Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson made history as the youngest person and first at-large member to serve as Philadelphia City Council’s Majority Leader. A lifelong Philadelphian and proud advocate for workforce development, public safety, and small business growth, she has championed legislation to strengthen transparency in government, support working parents, and create more opportunities for young people across our city. Before her own election to Council, Katherine spent 11 years working alongside Blondell as a trusted member of her team—rising from constituent services to chief of staff.
